Vita Krala

A week ago we made a trip to the province of Närke. And since we didn't want to spend too much money this time we were looking for a nice budget level B&B, preferably in the countryside. And we found it.
An old house, built in the 18th century, located in a very small village pretty far from everything.

Even if you can't quite see the 18th century in the exterior of the house inside there are plenty of authentical details. as for example these wrought iron window latches:

The owners, a Dutch couple, bought this house some nine years ago and restored it using only authentical materials and methods. They also chose a quite rustic country style for the interiors. A bit dusty in the corners but still very charming to my mind.

The description of the place promised a very calm and quiet environment. And the reality matched the expectations. I slept really well, woke up quite early but felt fresh and happy which doesn't happen to me that often.

Almost every thing in the rooms, from a lamp shade to a chest of drawers, has a price tag. The B&B has also a shop where you can buy those things.

The room price includes breakfast. But the B&B has also a restaurant where you can also eat lunch and dinner. And most of the ingredients come either from nearby farms or from their own garden.

On the down side I can say that one shared toilet & shower per five rooms is definitely not enough.

That is a gorgeous place and I want to stay there. But then there is the bathroom part. Always a trade off on things isn't there.
Is it in Sweden? It really is quite lovely and yes so calm looking.

Yes, it's in Sweden. You can keep this place in mind if you'll ever plan to travel to Scandinavia. :)

One day yes, I would love to go to Scandinavia :-)
My great-grandfather was from that island in the north of Denmark, Laslo I think it is called. So yes, someday I will get to that area.

I guess it must be Læsø.
I haven't been there yet but as far as I can see from the pictures it is a beautiful place well worth a visit, especially in summer.

Jutland, the mainland part of Denmark and the closest land to Læsø is really lovely. I really enjoyed my visits there. I especially remember those I did in summertime. It's a pretty special place to my mind. The sea, the sands, the light, the quiet...

I am due to take a trip to Western Europe and I just feel this place must be my destination, thank you! Do you think I should plan it for Summer?

Yes, I think it is much better in summer. As well as the rest of Scandinavia. Some parts of the very northern Norway, Sweden and Finland are great in winter too, but in the southern Sweden and Denmark it's much better in summer. Both the weather and the service. Quite a lot of places (cafés, restaurants, smaller hotels, museums, ferries, shops and other attractions) are only open in summer time for examples. Northern Jutland is famous for a very special light that has attracted lots of artists there throughout the centuries. But it is there only in summer. And in winter it can be depressingly dark here. So yes, it's definitely better in summer.

I think I will try my best to plan it for July of 2017!! Oh the light, Mmmmm. Jutland sounds lovely, and then a ferry ride to Laeso I think.
